After many weeks of extending an Ulduar instance and fitting in yogg tries around ToC clearances, finally, 0.5 seconds after the enrage the old god has fallen to a 25 man raid of Garrisonians. The last 10-15 seconds were very "exciting" (zomg , pass the booze!!) as we raced against the clock to get those last few thousand hitpoints off him. Hodir stepped in at the last second to save us with his aoe iceblock, whilst our dots finished him off! Ulduar clear! |

While we don't usually post about 10 man achievements, this seems worthy of bending the rules a little. After weeks of squeezing in hard mode Ulduar 10 attempts between all the crazy ToC farming, we finally got Yogg +1, thus completing the Ulduar 10 meta for several players. Having been present for most of these hard mode tries, I can say that One Light in the Darkness and Firefighter were among some of the most heart pounding fights to date. A big well done and gratz to all who were present. |

We vowed to return and wash itsy bitsy out this reset and low and behold, we did just that. A few tweaks to the previous tactics, and some carefully co-ordinated nukage, was enough to make the fugly thing fall over and drop his phats. It was quite an impressive run as well, because we owned the thing inside two attempts, after falling short of dps in the first try. This was a big improvement on the efforts earlier this reset so... well done all. Freaking awesome! What dropped I doth hear you cry? Well mostly a bunch of useless non-Rogue loot, but some of the casters seemed pretty happy...
So what next? Well we had a few tries on Heroic mode. We quickly found out that it's called Heroic for a reason...
What can I say, we had a few decent tries. We almost got the first mob down on one attempt, but we generally seemed to lack the dps to get it in time for the Worms. I am sure some more gear will mean we are able to get it down in the near future. So with the remaining 2hrs (yea we slacked a lot before and after Anub' taking a total of 40 mins of break time), we went and pwned some Ulduar bosses, dished out some offset items to peoples and generally owned some stuff (let's ignore the couple of noob wipes and put that down to not having been there for a good while now). So one day I hear from a level 1 Gnome Rogue called Reggy. Reggy turns out to be none other than Stufur, the Gnome Mage with a notorious fascination with 'lolpoints.' Right there and then he laid out his mission... to explore the known reaches of Azeroth, without going past level 1. This is, of course, insane, and until recently fairly impossible because exploration XP would get you to at least level 10. However, with the advent of 'locked xp' this is now possible. So over the next weeks we would get updates from Reggy, as he walked a path of death through the lands, telling us which new places he had visited on his bizarre quest. Then at last the day arrived, he had explored all places accessable by foot, and so required the help of some friends to summon him to the flying only parts. With the aid of Blinky, Dufva and myself, he explored the last spots on the map and dinged his impressive achievement. Well done you crazy Noam!!!
