It was a long road, filled with Faceless Generals, exploding dragons, evil shaman and many dead gnomes, but Team Fluffy have conquered the Dragon Soul and eliminated the evil of Deathwing from the world. In the end the fight came down to AoE 14 minutes into the fight, but with plenty of slows and spellweave, the Destroyer was finally vanquished.

This kill puts The Garrison as the only Alliance guild on Dunemaul to have competed the instance and the raiding portion of the expansion. While there are still a few kills of TG to get under their belt before Mists, hopefully heroic Raggy, Cho'gall (edit : dead already!) and Nefarian will go before we get to sample the raiding delights of Pandaria.

It's been quite a time since the last update. This is nothing to do with a lack of progress from The Garrison team, but rather my own slackness in apparently being unable to drop pictures into Flickr and write a few lines of "humorous" banter. In order to avoid this happening in the future, this post will be written as a standard boiler plate that can be adapted to any future kill. Please delete bold parts as appropriate.

Team Grumpy/Fluffy/The Muffins/The Johnson's

This week The Garrisons grumpiest/fluffiest/tastiest/xxxx team successfully/failed utterly to kill the latest dragon/elemental evil/tragic-character-who-you-just-know-will-be-back-next-expansion.The fight is a particularly interesting/boring one, with a lot of time spent trying to get past the varied combat mechanics/the same thing over and over three to four times. While it may have taken longer for the team to get this boss down than others, a few nights missing a healer/healer/healer set things back a bit. With some more consistent raiding/summer holidays/nights down the pub to come, it's hoped that the team will be able to press on and finish the instances/achievements/bottle of vodka before Mists of Pandaria/Emerald Dream/Return of Illidan.

Team Grumpy started on heroic Dragon Soul this week, after an entirely expected and planned two hour clear the previous reset. After only two wipes Morchock / Kcohcrom fell to the might of the Grumpies resulting in what can only be described as optimism. Grumpy then also proceeded to complete a few achievements in Dragon Soul and are ready for harder challenges of Yoh'sahj and Zon'ozz next week.

While I'm very happy that Grumpy killed Morchock and his evil twin this week, their cheery attitude leads me to believe that they have in fact been replaced with counterparts from the mirror universe. Until the correct level of grumpiness and pessimism is restored, I have to rename them Team Ypmurg and insist that little beards are mandatory for all future raids.

After three weeks of attempts, Team Fluffy have killed Heroic Yoh'sahj. I admit that after the first night of attempt where we couldn't even consistently get past the first set of oozes that I had doubts on our ability to kill the boss at all. I was weak. I didn't have faith in the might of Team Fluffy. Fortunately I was kept going by the optimism and belief of other team members. One in particular, picked me up with reminders and tales of other heroics kills along with a personal story of overcoming hardship. He was the rock of the team, and I think without him we'd all have succumbed to despair, disbanded the team and gone to play the much easier World of Hello Kitty. While I don't want to embarass him by giving is name, I'm sure he knows who he is and will continue to be an inspiration to us all! Hence I dedicate this kill to the mysterious "C".
