There has been some discussion recently about the upcoming problem of oversubscription to our weekly Molten Core runs. As our guild playerbase grows, it is inevitable that some people will not be able to make the "team" for the run. We are currently discussing ideas and options by which to counter this problem. The relevant thread is here If you are approaching L60, and are interested in running Molten Core then please register your interest here so that we know the numbers involved. Also, we are considering changing the running time for our current Sunday Molten Core visits - please vote in the poll on the left to enable us to see which times suit the most people.

Firstly, welcome to The Old Garrison. You have joined what I believe to be one of the finest guilds in WOW. We have a very diverse range of members from all walks of life and a wide range of countries ranging from Ireland to the Ukraine. We pride ourselves on helping each other and offering advice whenever needed, so do not be afraid to ask. I would be grateful if every new joiner reads the Guild Looting rules which are on this site; getting it wrong in an instance run causes a lot of ill-feeling and reading the rules only takes about 5 minutes of your time. We also make great use of an add-on called Guild Event Manager (or GEM) which is our planning calendar, and you should download this add-on as well if you want to be fully involved in Guild Activities. Another favourite for a lot of the members is the use of an Add-On called CTRaid which is a godsend in a busy instance when you are trying to heal, buff or decurse - or just know who is the Main Tank. Finally, as you do more hi-level instances, you will find that most players use TeamSpeak which allows you to chat to the other players and reduces the amount of typing required. It has a dramatic effect on efficiency and you really should get it if you want to take part in regular runs. In sum, have fun; make the most of the experience around you and never be afraid to ask for help or advice. Patch 1.9 has gone live today. Here are some working mirrors, in case you are having trouble with the download. With a new version of WoW comes updates to mods. Below is the current status on mods and 1.9. It seems that Blizzard has changed the default, so that outdated mods are not loaded by default now (it used to ask after each patch). You will need to manually reenable this to get your mods back. If your chat is spammed full of messages related to GEM, then you have not reenabled mods as mentioned above. CT Raid Assist has already been updated. Get the latest version from here: There is a temporary fix up for the Titan Panel Honor+ problem: FlexBar has some minor scaling issues, but an update is already available: The following mods are currently broken. - Auctioneer (Tooltips overlap)
If you know of anymore mods that are broken, then please let me know, so I can add them to the list. |

Zarra has kindly written two new FAQ's for addons in Wow. These are available in the FAQ section here The newest version of GEM is now 2.1 We thoroughly recommend that everyone upgrades to the latest version, which can be found here |
