Molten Core
Wednesday, 11 January 2006 13:36
There has been some discussion recently about the upcoming problem of oversubscription to our weekly Molten Core runs.

As our guild playerbase grows, it is inevitable that some people will not be able to make the "team" for the run.  We are currently discussing ideas and options by which to counter this problem.

The relevant thread is here

If you are approaching L60, and are interested in running Molten Core then please register your interest here so that we know the numbers involved.

Also, we are considering changing the running time for our current Sunday Molten Core visits - please vote in the poll on the left to enable us to see which times suit the most people.

Molten Core Revisited
Tuesday, 20 December 2005 10:16

Well, we revisited Molten Core last night, with the aim of trying to get Garr down.

First surprise was the fact that the Molten Giants had respawned.  We were under the impression that they wouldn't, but it seems they are on an 8 hour timer.  Well, we know for next time!

After clearing our way down to Garr (which didn't take long at all!) we found ourselves with an almost full group, so we started prepping.

Preparation for Garr is, quite frankly, a pain.  The objective is to banish or offtank his 8 adds and have one tank on Garr himself.  This requires a total of 9 tanks/warlocks.  As we only had two warlocks and 6 tanks in the group, it fell to Cauthon to Feral one of the adds.

Assigning mobs to the tanks is a fun experience.  Although CTRaid helps in some respects, it is still a pain to assign them because they keep moving so quickly!  Eventually (we thought) we managed to  get them all right, and Mace engaged.

Oh what fun! We died very quickly.

It appears that one of the adds wasn't actually tanked, and he went straight for our healers. SPLAT!

We wiped pretty quickly, but it was a great learning experience!

At this time, people were dropping from the group so it was decided to bust and zerg UBRS for fun again!

All in all, an enjoyable learning experience. We're certainly getting the hang of the trashmobs in there!

Molten Core - 18th Dec 05
Monday, 19 December 2005 09:46

Well, a lovely run to Molten Core yesterday.  For the first time, we took Magdamar down (second try of the evening) and then moved on to Gehennas, who died at our hands again after the second try.

This brings our sum total of MC bosses down to three.  I wouldn't necessarily call them "on farm status", but certainly Lucifron is now a piece of cake.  With a few more tries we should be able to kick them around quite easily.

After Gehennas, we dropped a few players and were down to 34.  Despite this, we cleared all the way up to Garr, and the entrance to Baron Geddon's room.  We then spectacularly wiped on the first mob pull from the Barons room!

Loot is on the DKP site here.

However.. my images are here:
